The Business Enhancement Committee of the
Great Neck Chamber of Commerce has really started to make some headway. The
Village of Great Neck has allocated substantial funds and retained an
architectural firm that specializes
in downtown planning. In contemplation of the work to be performed by this
firm, the Village of Great Neck has completed a survey of all buildings on
Middle Neck Road, compiled the data obtained and combined this information
with Village records. After meeting with state, county, town and Village
officials, we are starting to see results.
Several new businesses have opened on the Great Neck peninsula with
ribbon-cuttings arranged by the Chamber, the Village of Great Neck Plaza and
the Village of Great Neck to welcome these businesses to our Community.
Our Annual Awards Dinner has been moved to April 28, 2010, as this will
minimize the risk of inclement weather. We will also be preparing a journal
for our Annual Awards Dinner and hope that all of you will support this
event and our wonderful honorees.
Our next “Networking” event is scheduled for March 24, 2010, at TWO Steak &
Sushi Den, 1330 Union Turnpike, New Hyde Park. We will open the doors at
5:30 p.m. for Registration & Finger Foods/Cash Bar. Networking Begins
Promptly 6:00pm for maximum rotations. There will be advanced
registration only. Admission is $25 for Chamber members and $35 for
non-members.
Our breakfasts are held on the third Thursday of the month and we have many
informative programs for all of you to come and listen to. We provide time
for all attendees to introduce themselves and professional or business
affiliation. We are planning to offer sponsorships for our breakfasts and
the sponsors will be able to bring brochures and address the attendees to
promote their business.
We offer our Chamber Members, website listings of job openings, real estate
offerings and any special events that they deem important to be posted on
our website. We look forward to greeting all of our new members and
want to welcome all of you to our community.
